Trauma sorrowing the preterm birth

Psychological trauma is generated by highly disturbing or threatening events – such as premature birth for part of parents and babies – which shatter the feeling of safety making you feel helpless, overwhelmed, scared, uncertain in regard to the future, hopeless, throne in a world filled with dangers. Traumatic experiences often involve threatening your life or your physical safety however any situation that makes you feel overwhelmed or helpless, even if it doesn’t involve physical harm, can be a traumatic experience.
